Awareness Program against Human Trafficking by BSF Anti Human Trafficking Unit Phulbari
Fubari, Siliguri:Human trafficking is an organized crime, with the changes in technology over time, the methods of human trafficking have also changed. Today, social media has become an important tool for human trafficking. Human traffickers have reached villages and towns through social media. They lure people with jobs, marriage, luxurious lifestyle, love and money etc. Girls and women are their main targets. Society still lacks adequate information about human trafficking. And human trafficking agents take advantage of this.
In this context, BSF Anti Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) Phulwari and NGO group sensitized tea plantation workers at Kundubagan Gadara in Rajganj police station through an awareness programme. AHTU BSF Fulbari Incharge Inspector Rajesh Singh besides Biswajit Nag of NGO Evolution Foundation and Roshni Roy of Shakti Bahini participated and gave their views.
Kundubagan manager Ashish Pain, who was present at the awareness programme, expressed gratitude to BSF AHTU team and NGO group for organizing the event.
AHTU BSF is conducting awareness programs against human trafficking in the border areas of Siliguri and Jalpaiguri to sensitize the residents of the Phulbari border.
